Part time Science Teacher

Position Title: Part-Time Science Teacher

Reports To: Principal or Academic Dean

Position Type: Part-Time (11–15 hours per week)

Position Summary:
The Part-Time Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based science instruction while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry. The teacher will create a positive learning environment that supports student growth and encourages a love of science.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective science instruction aligned with school curriculum and academic standards.
  • Teach assigned science courses, which may include General Science, Physical Science, Biology, Environmental Science, or other science subjects as assigned.
  • Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials that accommodate diverse learning needs.
  • Create an engaging classroom environment that promotes student participation and achievement.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
  • Incorporate hands-on activities, laboratory experiences, and instructional technology to enhance learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success.
  • Attend required faculty meetings and professional development activities as appropriate for a part-time position.
  • Maintain classroom safety and uphold school policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field required.
  • Valid teaching certification in Science preferred.
  • Previous middle or high school teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and student-centered learning environment.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 11–15 hours per week. The schedule may include classroom instruction, lesson planning, grading, and occasional school meetings or events as assigned.
