Part time Science Teacher
Position Title: Part-Time Science Teacher
Reports To: Principal or Academic Dean
Position Type: Part-Time (11–15 hours per week)
Position Summary:
The Part-Time Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based science instruction while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry. The teacher will create a positive learning environment that supports student growth and encourages a love of science.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective science instruction aligned with school curriculum and academic standards.
- Teach assigned science courses, which may include General Science, Physical Science, Biology, Environmental Science, or other science subjects as assigned.
- Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials that accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Create an engaging classroom environment that promotes student participation and achievement.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
- Incorporate hands-on activities, laboratory experiences, and instructional technology to enhance learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success.
- Attend required faculty meetings and professional development activities as appropriate for a part-time position.
- Maintain classroom safety and uphold school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field required.
- Valid teaching certification in Science preferred.
- Previous middle or high school teaching experience preferred.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and student-centered learning environment.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 11–15 hours per week. The schedule may include classroom instruction, lesson planning, grading, and occasional school meetings or events as assigned.
