Position Summary

The 6th Grade Teacher is responsible for providing engaging instruction across core subjects while integrating biblical truth into the learning experience. The teacher will foster a nurturing, Christ-centered environment that encourages academic growth, spiritual development, and social maturity in students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in core subjects (Language Arts, Math, Science, History, Bible) in alignment with curriculum standards and the school’s Christian philosophy of education.

  • Integrate biblical worldview and values into daily teaching, classroom discussions, and student interactions.

  • Assess student learning through a variety of methods, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate grade records.

  • Establish a positive, orderly, and respectful classroom environment that reflects Christ-like character.

  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and parents to support student learning and spiritual growth.

  • Participate in chapel services, school events, and other activities that promote the spiritual and community life of the school.

  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating a personal commitment to Christ, Christian values, and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

  • Previous teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.

  • Active Christian faith and agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith.

  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to connect with students at the middle school level.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with parents, colleagues, and administrators.

Physical & Spiritual Expectations

  • Maintain a lifestyle that models Christian values inside and outside the classroom.

  • Actively participate in the spiritual life of the school, including prayer, chapel, and discipleship activities.

  • Ability to perform standard teaching duties, including standing, walking, and classroom supervision.
